The Grace of Being Who We Are
/Most of us approach our lives with the belief that something about us needs to be fixed, improved, or changed before we can be at ease with ourselves. While growth and development are necessary, we spend so much effort trying to become better versions of ourselves, at least in part because we can’t see we are already worthy, exactly as we are.
Grace does not require us to become someone different before it can pour into us and through us. Instead, it invites us to release judgment, expectations, and resistance that keep us from seeing ourselves as already whole.
Perhaps genuine transformation begins not with the effort to change who we are, but with the willingness to accept ourselves fully. Then to allow Grace to reveal what has been there all along — to us and to those around us.
What might become possible if, instead of trying so hard to become someone different, we trusted that who we are is already enough—and allowed life to unfold from there?
