In thirty years of facilitating change with leaders and clients, I've heard a phrase, "There's an elephant in the room." over and over again. This phrase means that we're not talking about something important, which is often the truth; yet, even once acknowledged, dealing with an elephant is a complicated and sometimes confounding matter.
