Speaking True: On the Stage of Life

Anytime we are in front of an audience, live or virtual. we are taking a risk that we can offend someone. And it’s not just on a stage that we face this challenge, because most of life has some kind of an audience that will be perceiving us.

It is so very easy to blame someone for being offended by what we say or do. Yet that is to abdicate our responsibility.

A long-time mentor often proposed that our goal should always be personal effectiveness. And that effectiveness demands consideration of who we might affect and how we might affect them. Not merely to be kind, though kindness is a great practice when possible, but “to consider” carefully our role and the part we play with others.

Here is our personal experience with this valuable practice. Enjoy what you hear, and pass it on to those for whom it will be useful.
